I am ecstatic to join the DeSoto Eagles for the 18-19 school year!

I believe the mission of theatre and speech courses should be to establish confident, dynamic, and socially aware leaders who, both consistently and impactfully, utilize their skills to cultivate empathy, meaningful communication, and global awareness in the world around them. It is also important to acknowledge that these subjects provide life skills for all students as they progress through their academic, professional, and personal lives.

The lessons I learned as a Theatre Arts and Speech student have been powerful sources of confidence, structure, and growth in my life. They have given me the skills necessary to succeed, not only artistically, but as a member of a corporate team, an advocate for education, an empathetic listener, and a multitude of other roles. These are lessons and skills I am eager to instill in every student who enters my classroom.

I was born in a very small west Texas town by the name of Pecos. Seeking greater opportunities, my family relocated us to the DFW area, where I spent my formative years. While attending high school, I split my time between leadership roles in both band and theatre programs, where I developed a great appreciation for communications and the arts. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas A&M University - Commerce with a bachelor's degree in theatre and a minor in business management.

When I'm not in the classroom, I enjoy volunteering my time to developing scripts and staged readings. I also love improvising on my piano, even when my two puppies protest. If I am not expanding my script library, it is probably because I have been distracted by the newest horror film on Netflix.

I am greatly looking forward to the upcoming year! Communication is key, so let's keep it open. Feel free to contact me directly via work phone, e mail, or my teaching website. I look forward to resolving any inquiries or concerns and ensuring you have an excellent experience as a valued member of DeSoto ISD.
