Sergeant First Class (Retired) Edward Prueitt is a native of Dallas, Texas. He joined the United States Marines Corps July 17, 1989 where he attended boot camp at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, California. His first assignment was Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, First Marine Division wherd.

After completing four years in the Marine Corps, SFC Prueitt received an honorable discharge in May 1993. In October of 1993, he joined the United States Army where he served in Frankfurt, Germany for his first assignment as a Personnel Security Clerk. His next assignment was 151 st  Postal Company Fort Hood, Texas where he served as a Squad Leader and later Platoon Sergeant. He deployed five times while stationed at Fort Hood; twice to Kuwait, twice to Bosnia and Qatar. On his second tour in Germany, SFC Prueitt deployed to Iraqi and Afghanistan over a four year period. He retired from Fort Sill, Oklahoma on February 1, 2010. His awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal and the Joint Service Achievement Medal. 

SFC Prueitt completed a 20 years of military service. After retirement, he was selected to teach Junior Cadet Corps at East Middle school. He held that position for four years where he mentored and trained his Color Guard who won first place at the Middle School National Competition 2012. He began the next phase of his teaching career at the DeSoto High School in August 2013 as the LET I instructor. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice earned from Saint Leo University of Florida and a Juris Doctorate earned from UNT Dallas College of Law.
